Dave Matthews Band (DMB) is a rock group originating from Charlottesville, Virginia. The band was founded in 1991 by front man Dave Matthews (vocals, guitar and songwriter). The band includes members LeRoi Moore (sax), Stefan Lessard (bass), Boyd Tinsley (violin) and Carter Beauford (drums). The band first broke through to the mainstream with their 1994 album Under the Table Dreaming. It would yield hits "What Would You Say," "Satellite" and "Ants Marching." The Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Charlotte is an outdoor
amphitheatre just outside Charlotte, North Carolina that
specializes in hosting large concerts. The facility originally
opened as the Blockbuster Pavilion in 1991, and largely
replaced the Paladium Amphitheatre at Carowinds as the
premier concert venue in the Metrolina region. The amphitheater
is located on Pavilion Boulevard in the University City
neighborhood near the US 29/I-485 (Outerbelt) interchange.
The venue is operated by Live Nation, a concert company.
