For the 2007-2008 season, the Atlanta Hawks changed their colors and uniforms to navy blue, red and white, which marks the first time since their days in St. Louis that they wore those colors. On February the 16th, 2008 Atlanta improved their frontcourt acquiring guard Mike Bibby from the Sacramento Kings. This was mainly to compliment Joe Johnson, but to also make them a very powerful duo as both have been known for there scoring abilities.

Philips Arena is an indoor arena in Atlanta, Georgia. It is home to the Atlanta Thrashers of the NHL and the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA, seating 18,729 for basketball. The arena was laid out in a rather unusual manner, with the club seats and luxury boxes aligned solely along one side of the playing surface, and the general admission seating along the other three sides. The layout at Philips was done so as to be able to bring the bulk of the seats closer to the playing surface while still making available a sufficient number of revenue-raising club seats and lodges. The arena is sponsored by and named for Philips Electronics and therefore contains a large number of television screens made by Philips.
